Parkour, a sport often practiced in urban spaces, includes elements of running, climbing, and vaulting. It is frequently described as a way of getting from one point to another in the most efficient way possible.
The sport has become increasingly popular in recent years, thanks in part to features in several major action movies. For this photo series, I followed a group of young parkourists as they trained together in New York City’s Central Park and Financial District. Hear their philosophies about the challenge in the accompanying radio piece.
